Sir Robert Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of Sir Robert Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Erskine.[1]
He married, firstly, Margaret Hay.[1]
He married, secondly, Christian Erskine, daughter of Sir John Erskine of Kinnoull, before 1457.[1]
He died from July 1494 to February 1494/95.[1]
He fought in the Battle of Lochmaben in 1484, which he successfully defended for King James III against the 9th Earl of Douglas.[1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lochmaben_Fair
He was created 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [Scotland] on 29 January 1487/88.[1]
