Timothy Mather came over from England in 1635 with his parents. His father was The Rev. Richard Mather (1596 - 1669). He married Catherine [SIC: Elizabeth] Atherton (daughter of Humphrey Atherton) in 1649 or 1650. Was known as the "farmer Mather." Most of the people descended from The Rev. Richard Mather are descendants of this Timothy.
After the death of his wife Elizabeth Atherton, Timothy married Elizabeth, the widow of William Weeks of Dorchester.
