About ? Willette
? Willette was dunked in a creek by some "damned yankees", because he would not tell the Yankees where a gold pouch was. Later in life he became blind. ? Willette and his wife (?) were still alive during the American Civil War, at which time they were approximately age 90 and had a small plantation. They had a daughter and 3 sons. One of the sons was named Washington Willette, and he was killed in the Civil War. [Pallie Duro's father married the one daughter of the Willettes, named Parthena Emiline Willette, who became Pallie Duro Brown's mother.]
(Information obtained by Silvia Gonzalez Koch, from Elsie Brown Silverman, who had heard it from her father, Pallie Duro Brown.)
