3. William Cox inherited 150 acres on Lynch’s River on the line between Orange County and Hanover (now Louisa) County. “William Cox, son of James Cox, dec’d,” received a grant for 400 acres in Hanover (now Louisa) County on the Orange County line 12 March 1739/40. He added 450 acres neighboring acres in 1743. William returned to the Terry’s Run area of Orange County 1 June 1741 when he secured a grant for 543 acres there. Among his headrights was John Evans, his brother-in-law.
