William Douglas was the First Duke of Queensberry and the third Earl of Queensberry. [1]
William was born in 1637 in Drumlanrig, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. He was eldest son of James Douglas and Lady Margaret Stewart. He died in 1695. He was buried at Durisdeer Church, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. [1]
William was the builder of Drumlanrig Castle.
WIlliam married Isabel Douglas. They had four children:
