Thomas P. Dungan has researched the Dungan family for a number of years. His latest book is about William. An Early English Perfumer--William Dungan of St. Martin-in-the Fields c. 1600-1636--His Ancestry and Family (2017). The family once thought to be English is likely to be Irish, primarily the O'Donegans of Ara in Tipperary County.

Page 20 summarizes the Dungan Genealogy in chart form. I added other information from the book.

John Dongan (Anne O'Moore) died between 1510-1520 (Bailiff of Dublin, fishmonger) Philip Dongan (Alson Walsh) died about 1535 (Merchant of High Street in Dublin) Thomas (Ms. Donnough?) died about 1590 (Gentleman of Dublin) Richard (several wives) died about 1609 (Master Plaster of London) Thomas (Mary) died about 1604 (involved in mercantile affairs in the Netherlands) William (Frances Latham) died 1636 (Perfumer of St. Martins-in-the-Fields, London) Thomas Dungan (Elizabeth Weaver) died 1688 (Baptist Minister of Bucks County, Pennsylvania)
