About William Hendrick
For detailed information see https://www.genfiles.com/hendrick-files/William_Hendrick.pdf
William Hendrick was a Virginia colonist. William Hendrick was one of four sons of Pamunkey Neck settler Hance Hendrick and his wife Jane (see note below on Jane's identity). There are no records that indicate his year of birth, but Baird (see sources below) puts it as c1680s.
Most of the early records and references to William consist of land patents, which are detailed by Baird in his extensive and sourced history. William appears to have been born and raised in central King William County, where as an adult, he received several land patents. He also owned land in Hanover County.
Based on commercial and business records, it appears that William was both a slave owner and a tobacco planter.
There is no record specifically identifying William's wife, however merchant records do include a reference to Tempy Hendrick, which could be either his wife or a daughter.
There is no specific record of the year of his birth, but it can be inferred to have occurred some time after 1756.
