- synopsis Yenta, the daughter of the BESHT'S great disciple, Rabbi Yehiel Michal of Zlotchov was extremely pious. She immersed in the mikvah several times a day and prayed with great devotion while wearing a tallis. As she listened in the fields of the forests to the birds singing, she would "jump Kedushah". . . Reb Yosef ran to the Baal Shem Tov and anxiously told him about his wife Yenta's delusions. The Baal Shem Tov comforted him, "Your Yenta has seeing eyes and hearing ears. She hears the angels singing and understands the language of the birds and animals. Don't trouble Yenta the Prophetess or interfere with her. She has the holy spirit.
