He married, first, a daughter of Borthwick de eodem, by whom he had William, who succeeded him in the Perthshire estates; he married, second, a daughter of Home de eodem, by whom he had Thomas, the first of the house of Kellie. This daughter of Sir William Borthwick, whose given name is not known, married John Oliphant.[1][2]

She had a daughter, Marion, who was contracted to marry in 1399. This would indicate a birth circa 1383-8, so the mother's birth must be about 1365.
