Amatus refers to the unnamed sister of Guaimar IV Prince of Salerno being captured and "imprisoned in a filthy and horrible prison", together with his nephew's wife, after her brother was murdered[971]. It is unclear who this "nephew" was, as Prince Guaimar´s brothers were too young in 1052 to have had a son who was already married. It is possible that the passage refers to the wife of one of the sons of Ioannes, younger brother of Prince Guaimar III.
