Danzig for Gdansk may well be a partial translation of the Polish name of the City that comes from Get-Dan-sk referring to its once Get alias Goth and Dan inhabintants . Goat in Gothic is namely equal to modern German Zieg that might have also been a correct term for the ethnicity of some of the founders of the city who might have descended from Alexander of Makedonia known as the first Goatman in history as it is written .
Gdansk may be identical with the city founded by him under the name of Khubdan referring to is inhabitants of Kashub origin ( K'shub-Dan ) .
