About the Forget surname

Louis dit LaForge came to New France in 1625. As many of the very early settlers were craftsmen and artisans it is quite possible that Louis's nickname LaForge came from his occupation, that of a Blacksmith, subsequent generations carried the nickname until it eventually was corrupted to Forget.
