I am researching the halladays from litchfield and grafton ohio. Which has brought me back to Massachusetts and England. The Halladay name is spelled different ways I have found out. The name is spelled Halliday, hallada, and currently spelled holliday. My ancestors started with my grandmother Florence Augusta Holliday. She was raised by Alexander Herman Nelson. Her father was William Holliday whose father was Chester Fayette Halladay,Halliday. Chester's father was Moses. They lived in litchfield, medina, ohio. They were all farmers and carpenters. Moses brother Samuel had a farm and gave them land . I have been told the farms still exist but are not managed by hollidays. Chester Halladay also lived in grafton,lorain,ohio.moses was from hampden,Massachusetts. They are buried in crows corner cemetery. Except for William who is buried by his daughter lenora holliday/aring in algers cemetery in Cleveland ohio. Death certificate says different cemetery but I think lenora didn't want that so laid him to rest in algers cemetery. No stone or marker. Lenora and her husband John aring is laid next to John's parents no marker . His parents have a stone marker.
