I am researching my mothers family history. Her name was Jean Robson descended from a family who lived in the Bellingham area of Northumberland for many hundred's of years. The main line goes through my grandfather, George Robson (1875-1944 & Beatrice, William Robson (1829-1904) & Mary, Thomas (1793-1858) & Mary, Thomas (1749-1811) & Isabel, Jacob (1720-1777) & Margery, Joseph (1687-?), William (1650-1699) & Catharine, Hugh (?-1698), William (1588-?) & Agnes.
They were mainly farmers or timber merchants and the principal houses were Countess Park and Lowshield Green in the village of Birtley, near Bellingham.
Collateral families include Smith, Clark, Hodgson, Hutchinson, Davidson, Brown.
