James Dabney Via owned the penny profit general store in Charlottesville during 1900s through the depression. At that time he extended credit to his customers despite knowing They could not pay him. He died soon thereafter from a stroke . My grandfather Bernard had to settle his accounts and administer his estate. This was not easy as he owned the farm that later was sold to I grandfather's brother-in-law Dr. Reynolds. The farm became Renovia for Reynolds and Via. The family built a like and used it as a recreation lake and picnic area for college students. During the 1980s the pharmacist finally sold for development. I'm curious if anyone would know if this was the same farm passed down from Malichai Via from when he first arrived in the Charlottesville area in early 1700s
