There are several variations of the Warriner name - Warrener, Warrender, etc.
Literacy was poor in England in the past, and clerks accepted names as they were pronounced.
The warrener (from the French) was the keeper of the rabbits for the "hunt".
In my great grandfather's case, The Old Bailey in London recorded his name as William Warrener, but he was later known in New South Wales, Australia as William Warriner. He arrived in Australia as a convict in 1834.
