This is from this source: [This Bible belonged to Mrs. Nesbit Burriss (Jenie Frohn) of Anderson Co., SC & was copied by Leonard Andrea of Columbia, SC a Richey descendant, many years ago. He sent it to the compiler in 1941. In the back of the bible: "Margaret Richey, wife of James, died in the month of Sept 1802. Jas Richey died in the month of Aug 1808 in the 85th year of his life." This fits perfectly with the story handed down that James Richey was a small child when his parents, Alex & Jeane (Caldwell) Richey came to America in 1727.]

[Now in the possession of Robert L Ritchie, Ft Worth, Tex. A copy was sent to the compiler by Mr. Ritchie about 10 years ago. This family, though it spells the name differently, is the same family as the James Richey of SC who was a son of Alexander Richey, Sr. who died in Prince Edward County, VA in 1749 leaving a will. This Alex Ritchie is junior to the Alex of Prince Edward who was the immigrant form Ireland to America in 1727. Thus he is the brother of James, Sr of VA & Abbeville County, SC]
