About Clement Trigg, Sr.
Tobacco Planter in Maryland. Clement inherited land from Sarah's father, Capt. Thomas Bullet
The elder Trigg was heavily into debt with London merchants. He absconded in the middle of the night, leaving his land holdings to fall wherever they might. The county condemned, seized, and appraised the land, preparing it for public sale. Clement, Jr. and his brother Jeremiah bought the property and divided it between the two of them as an “inheritance” from their father. (1)
notes
On Saturday, 25 March 1741, Clement Trigg bought 150 acres of land known as "Gloven Hall" (sic: Glover's Hall)from Joseph Chaplin in Prince George's County, Maryland. Apparently he was heavily in debt to the merchants of Liverpool, England. A document shows that "sum of fifty three pounds currency" owed to the said Christopher Lounders, John Hardman & William Whaley. He "privately did remove and abscond from the place of abode." This land was taken, appraised and condemned by the County Court of Prince George's County to satisfy the debts of the Liverpool merchants.
Two of his sons, Jeremiah and Clement Trigg Jr., bought back the same tract of land in Prince George's County, Maryland from the Liverpool merchants for forty pounds currency on Friday, 1 July 1763. This tract was divided between Clement Trigg Jr. and his brother Samuel Trigg probably as their inheritance from their parents.
Clement Trigg's place of birth, death and burial has not been confirmed.

From Glover's Hall, Prince George's County, Maryland 14 Mar 2014 6:26PM GMT Query
"In March of 1725, John Sherwood sold a property referenced in the deed as "Glover's Hall" in Prince George's County, Maryland. It was witnessed by Joseph Peach and Thomas Swearingen. Joseph Peach owned property in what is now Bowie, Maryland, which is approximately 11 miles from Leeland, MD, where St. Barnabas Church is still located - the Sherwoods, Swearingen and Peach families were members of St. Barnabas Church in the 1720s era according to church records. No Glovers appear in the St. Barnabas church records for that time period, but I suspect Glover's Hall may have been owned by a Glover before John Sherwood purchased it. Hoping a Glover researcher may know more about Glovers in Prince George's County during that late 1600s and early 1700s period."
"There is a long entry in the Trigg Book and the source is "LDS Film No. 14252 Land Records, P. G. Co., MD. 1752-1767, p. 76-77." A deed requested by the sons Clement Jr. and Jeremiah Trigg seem to be buying back condemned property, paying their father's debt to acquire "a parcel of land called GLOVEN HALL (caps not mine) lying in P. G. County", and then it describes the boundaries of the property in detail."
4 March 1725/6. Santelo Dyer surveyed "Glovers Hall" and purchased from John Sherwood in Prince George's County, Maryland. Was 150 acres total size. Joseph Peach and Thomas Swearingen witnessed the land transaction. Patented 24 June 1727
