About *Elizabeth Boykin Pierce
Died unmarried
Per letter written by Benjamin Kendrick Pierce to Franklin Pierce c/o John McNeil: "Much mortified and greived to learn that daughter Elizabeth will not attend to her studies at Derry." Implores brother to remove her from school and place her to board with a family with no children, and taught habits of industry. Suggests that Lucy Kimball (Mrs Parker) of Nashua might take Elizabeth for this winter. Advise where she is sent, and will leave in the hands of Gen McNeil. Money to pay her expenses.
In a letter written January 7,1843 he writes to his sister that "I arrived here (Houlton,Maine?) the day before yesterday with Elizabeth, who is not in the enjoyment of very good health."
