James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune was born after 1529.

He was the son of Sir James Stewart and Margaret Lindsay.

He married Lady Margaret Campbell, daughter of Archibald Campbell, 4th Earl of Argyll and Lady Margaret Graham, on 11 January 1563/64.

He died on 20 July 1590.

James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune gained the title of 1st Lord Doune.

Sir James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune, was born about 1529, as in a list of the Scottish nobility, dated 10 April 1589, he is said to be "of 60 yeares".[1] He was the eldest son of Sir James Stewart, of Beith, county Fife, Captain or Constable of the Castle of Doune, and his wife, Margaret Lindsay, daughter of John Lindsay, 3rd Lord Lindsay of the Byres, and widow of Richard Stewart, 3rd Lord Innermeath.[2]

He was Knighted and became Constable of Castle Doune.

In 1581 he was created 1st Lord Doune. He was also Lord of St. Colme. He died on 20 July, 1590. [3][4] Marriage

James Stewart was married to Margaret Campbell on 11 January 1563 or 1564[5][6] Children

    James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune was born circa 1529.2 He was the son of Sir James Stewart of Beath and Margaret Lindsay.2 He married Lady Margaret Campbell, daughter of Archibald Campbell, 4th Earl of Argyll and Lady Margaret Graham, on 11 January 1563/64.3 He died on 20 July 1590.2
