About Joseph Beeler
changes to be made by a curator
- Place of Death/State/Province: Tennessee
concerns
This Joseph reportedly served under Jacob Beeler (not his so-named brother, but an apparent relative) in the Battle of Kings Mountain (unattested on his gravestone), but the Daughters of the American Revolution report the following comments in his ancestor profile (link below):
- 1) THIS MAN WAS TOO YOUNG TO SERVE WITH JACOB BEELER AT KINGS MOUNTAIN,
- 2) PER CORRECTED DOB EST. NO OTHER SERVICE FOUND. SEE DATACF. 3/2014
Do not confuse this Joseph with his paternal uncle Joseph Beeler.
This Joseph resembles Jacob Beeler. Are they supposed to be the same person? Research is warranted.
notes
Date of birth might specifically be July 5, 1762 (which would make him a teenager during the Battle of Kings Mountain if correct).
Date of marriage to Katherine might specifically be 1782.
comments
Date and place of death have also been (erroneously?) reported to be March 2, 1845 in Grainger County, Tennessee, United States (attested on his Find A Grave memorial, conflicts with his DAR ancestor record).
