About Percy Browne

Percy was the son of William Browne and Mary Savage. He was born at Flushing (Vlissingen), Zeeland (in what is now the Netherlands), where his father was lieutenant-governor, in 1605, before November the year.[1][2]

Percy was naturalised as an English citizen in 1622.[1][2][3][4]

Percy married Anne Rich.[1][2] They had four children:

  2. Nathaniel[1][2][3]
  3. Samuel[1][2][3]
  4. Elizabeth[1][2]

Percy's death date is not known.

Research Notes

The NEHGR of 1894 gives Percy's birth date as 1602.[3]


Comments

Since he had to be naturalized as English in1622, he may have been born in Germany or the Low Countries.

William Browne, Anne Browne and Barbara Browne, children of Sir William Browne, Lieutenant Governor of his Majesty's Cautionary Town of Flushing, were naturalized by Act of Parliament in 1604.[3]
