Lord of Lorne is a title in the Peerage of Scotland. First it was created for Robert Stewart, son of John Stewart, ambassador to the English king, by a daughter of Eoghan de Ergadia, Laird of Latharna. Robert was succeeded by his oldest son John, member of the Scottish Parliament.
Robert Stewart, 1st Lord of Lorn, was a Commissioner to England for the release for King James, I in 1421 Between 1424 and 1429 he was one of the hostages for the payment of King James, I of Scotland's ransom. He was created 1st Lord Lorn [Scotland] before 5 September 1439.1 He lived at Innermeath, Scotland.
Birth: 1379 Lorn, Argyllshire, Scotland. Death: December 20, 1449 (70) Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. (Possible alternate death date 20 Dec 1463: http://www.thepeerage.com/p10798.htm). The same source lists one more possible child as Alan Stewart.
