The parents of John Lewis have not yet been proven. Some researchers have linked him to the Lewis' of Warner Hall and specifically Charles the Byrd. This is impossible because of DNA testing. The descendants of John Lewis are YDNA Haplogroup H-BY40831.

A professional geneologist was hired some years ago and has been unable to positively identify the parents of John Lewis.

A YDNA project has been started at Family Tree DNA. We encourage any male YDNA testers, or any autosomal testers to join the project. Thank you. Angela Keeney
