Sir Knight Henricus Von Lunkhofen

Henricus came from the Zurich area and was a member of ZURCHER RITTERGESCHLECHT (THE ZURICHER HOUSE OF KNIGHTS). He was the fifth knight in the order of KNIGHTS VON LUNKHOFEN, a string of six knights spanning six consecutive generations. He sold off his estate in nearby Weiningen in the early 1300's, reason unknown. He would have been pretty old by then. He married the second of three SNEWLI women to be taken into the family in three consecutive generations, and this female surname of SNEWLI sometimes showed up as a part of his own name and in time would ultimately replace the Lunkhofen name entirely. Documentation exists showing his name as: Herr HEINRICH [SNEWLI] VON LUNGHOFt, RITTER, Ritter means knight in German, the Lunghoft part of the name is unexplainable. (wab)
