About Sir William Vaux, V, of Great Harrowden
Notes:
- killed at the Battle of Tewkesbury on 4 May 1471. His wife, Catherine Penyston or Pennison, was born in the Piedmont region of Italy and came to England with her father, Gregory Penyston, as a political refugee. She was a lady in waiting to Margaret of Anjou. Their children, Jane and Nicholas, were educated in the household of Margaret Beaufort, where Catherine may also have had a place. She was still living at the time of Margaret’s death.
